Pino Pinelli was born in Catania in 1938, where his first artistic formation takes place and where he obtained his first awards. Giovanissimo moved to Milan – it was the early 1960s – that in that period was particularly rich in cultural ferments and where the artistic debate dominated by the presence of Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Enrico Castellani, Agostino Bonalumi, Dadamaino, Giovanni Colombo, Turi Simeti is very stimulating. From the experimental act through painting, Pinelli moves to a conscious reflection on how to intervene to modify the initial data and approach the essence of painting.
