Laura Aprile was born in Ragusa in 1968.
He graduated in Painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, a city where he has lived and worked since 1990.
In the course of his pictorial activity he is the protagonist of meetings and formative relations with people of culture and entertainment who influence his artistic work, giving it to the love of theatre and costume, widely interpreted also through the decorations of fabrics in which his figures are often wrapped.
Since her first solo exhibitions, she has been a critical success, in Italy and abroad, while her rich activity sees her passionate performer of incisive and realistic portraits and often large nudes, as if to emphasize the monumentality of the pictorial body that becomes flesh.
Laura Aprile is a woman who paints women. His figurative painting, characterized by an intimate and suggestive path, digs, documents, travels and suggests enigmatic trajectories.
The female figures, characterized by a strong sensuality, are at the center of his pictorial story.
Friends, rivals, accomplices or simply muses. No one knows who these women are. Perhaps, simply, those who live together, in that dimension called soul, that only a woman, before an artist, is able to reveal.
