Jim Dine

Jim Dine (born 16 June 1935) is one of the best-known American pop artists, an exponent of the Neo-Dada movement. His works were also exhibited at DOCUMENTA Kassel and at the Venice Biennale. In addition to painting and scenography, he deals with sculpture, photography, writing and conceives of happenings. In 2000 he was commissioned by the Municipality of Siena to create the Drappellone for the Palio in July, won by the Contrada Sovrona dell’Istrica.
